Inscription on the bell: Lyon& Healy” American Climax” Chicago” A crest.

Scrolling, and flourishes are there engraved also. On the second valve case is the serial# 39xx. Bore is.458 the best I could measure.

15 ½” long w/o MP, 4 5/8” bell, 6 ¼” tall at valves. Finger buttons are most assuredly original and are Mother of Pearl topped with an interesting conical taper to the center of each. The primary tuning slide adjusts out to an“A” position and has the adjusting rod. Tuning nut, and stop nut all present and operationa l. Mouthpiece is unmarked. Small shank, large cup, is likely the original. Really a nice horn and LOOKS GREAT!

There is very little. Minor denting on the bell cane back, 2 nd valve crook. Rear adjusting crook. There’s light wrinkling on the lead tube just before the 1 st valve& though the bell is in great shape it has a slight flattened edge. I disassembled. Checked valves and slides. The valves work as they are supposed to; the slides move and remove as designed.

I played it- It plays just fine. I will say that for playing I’d use a different mouthpiece- The one it came with seems to relate to about a 12 or 13- I like something like a 3c down to a No. This is a very good vintage horn dating to 1904. Though not completely perfect. Has aged very nicely.

This horn is a real beauty just as it is. This is the ticket to get a historic instrument without spending a bundle!

The finish is unbelievable for its age and the horn is still in working condition. It features incredible gold engraving throughout the horn and a silver plate that is very well intact. Although it is in good shape. It would be great for a moderate restoration project.

It needs a little more dent work on the tuning slide and possible restoration of the pistons. This of course is up to the buyer. Included is the original case and the parts that were removed. This would be the quick transposition lever and rod, but could be salvaged with skilled hands. The horn is otherwise in good shape, but with evidence of Bell re-rounding the dent on the tuning slide. Included is the horn, original case, and both the Ab and Bb lead pipe.

This is a real rare gem of a horn for the one that gets it. Posted with eBay Mobile. Here is a very nice looking Lyon& Healy American Professional Bb/A cornet. The serial number is 413. L&H had many different sequences of serial numbers but this model appears in the 1911 L&H catalog so it would have been made in or near that year.

It has beautiful engraving on the bell that reads: Lyon& Healy. American Professional, Chicago. The leaf pattern of the engraving extends in a thin line all the way around the throat of the bell. The silver plating is in very good condition with some hand wear spots on the front of the valve casing. A' tube, 3rd slide and top of 2nd valve slide.

It is slightly pitted on the side of the casings and 3rd valve slide. Some minor wear points elsewhere.

All the slides pull easily. The forward facing slide is for pulling out to play A cornet. The stop rod and nuts are there, there. Was a brace for the stop nuts to hit that is missing. The valves are clean and work smoothly. They have 100+ years of wear on them so heavy oil is in order!

The 1st piston has a ding in the surface. The leadpipe has some slight ripples in the first section and has been resoldered to the braces. 3 tubes have been resoldered. The bell flare shows some very slight evidence of dent repair. There are some very tiny dings here and there and a couple of braces very slightly pushed in. This is a beautifully made cornet! L&H sold many imported horns but this one would have been made in the U.S.

It has the acorn shaped pull knobs which would mark it as having been made in the L&H Chicago factory. It doesn't have a case or mouthpiece with it. Here is a cool vintage cornet. The bell inscription reads: Jaubert. Imperial, Lyon& Healy, Sole Agents, Chicago.

The bell has a nice engraving pattern that extends almost to the bow. I would estimate this is from about the 1890s or so. It is stamped'Austria' on the 2nd valve casing. This cornet copies the look of the Conn Wonder model including the angled tubes between the valves, the setup for tuning the main slide while playing and the wishbone double water key. It is nickel plated. The plating is mostly intact but there is some wear on the valve casings and there are some small spots in other places.

Healy

The valves work easily and all the slides pull. The pistons are nickel silver and have some minor tarnish. 1st and 2nd are missing the bottom plates and there is some solder in the lowest port of the 1st piston. It has small. Dings all around and a couple of dents. The bell flare shows some slight wrinkles around the edge. A number of spots have been resoldered.

Some better than others. The 3rd crook is dented and has solder on the inside radius. The leadpipe extension for the mouthpiece is missing but I tried it with one from another horn and it did play. This horn has a nice heavy and substantial feel to it. I think it could be a very nice cornet with a little tlc!

UP FOR BIS IS A VINTAGE LYON& HEALY(Eb ALTO HORN) FOR PARTS OR REPAIR) MADE FOR LYON& HEALY CHICAGO. THE SPEC.S ARE SHOWN IN PICTURE 4,5,6,7. THE VALVES HAVE MOTHER OF PEARL ON TOP. THE VALVES, TOP& BOTTOM SCREW ON CAP AND SPRINGS ARE ALL GOOD. THE BELL IS 7 1/8' IN DIAMETER. This is one of very few horns that have the name of Couesnon& Cie and Lyon& Healy.

Couesnon& Cie was one of France's important musical instrument manufacturers. The company received many awards for excellent work. The instrument appears to be an Alto. The wide bell and narrow bore is something of an early design. The instrument needs repairs, but it has the most important parts: the bell and the valve cluster. The instrument is quite repairable. Even as an incomplete instrument, this horn is still interesting, because it clearly.

Documents a little-known relationship between Coursnon and Lyon& Healy, one of this country's more important music importers and retailers. From the top of the bell straight down to the bottom of the tube is 20 1/2' I ONLY SHIP IN THE U.S.A. First off I'd like to place this disclaimer that I am not a musician nor do I know much about musical instruments. I am selling this vintage cornet for my father. Who has had this cornet sitting on a dusty shelf for most of its life.

I am unaware of the age but there is a stamp on one of the slides which states'j. Neuman's a-b pat. 11.99' which means this is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. All the valves move freely with a nice rebound and all the slides move with a little bit of effort. I am sure it could use some oil. But I am not about to do it and ruin the instrument.

I am assuming that this cornet is silver plated as it has a gorgeous near black patina covering it. There are two light dings/dents and alot of dust but overall wonderful condition. I believe this also has the key changing valve which. Another cornet on eBay also has. The two bottom valves still have the cork caps intact.

There is no mouthpiece or case. The entire cornet is very ornately engraved and has the name Lyon Healy No.4150 Duplex.

Healy

Own Make, Chicago USA engraved on the outside of the horn. The instrument measures approximately 12 3/4inch long and has a 5inch wide horn. You are looking at a Turn of the 20th century Lyon and Healy Champion cornet in silver plate in Bb/A with mouthpiece and lyre. This cornet is elaborately engraved on the bell. Slides and valve casings, making it very nice presentation piece while still a very good player. All valves move and maintain compression for their age. The 2nd slide and Main tuning slide are free and moveable but the 1st and 3rd remain stuck. The Bell has some creasing from where it was repaired in the past, and still maintains hints of gold wash that used to be present. There is a dent towards the shephard's crook and some dings here and there and the small brace at the shephard's crook/1st slide will need to be resoldered as it is off.

Please inspect the pictures carefully. Included with the instrument are its original mouthpiece(in remarkable shape with.

I was told that it was used in WWI. I have no proof or knowledge other than word of mouth. BUT, I thought it was very very cool so I picked it up bc of its character. It has engraving detail that I think is beautiful. And everything in the pics is included.

As you can see, there are signs of age& usage as seen in pics. If you have any questions, please ask. I will do my best to answer, but again, I am limited in my musical knowledge.
